Samsung to offer crypto wallet in budget Galaxy models

Technology giant Samsung has announcedthat it will be expanding its integration of blockchain technology in its mobile devices. After including a crypto wallet in the recently-released Galaxy S10 smartphone, it will soon be doing the same for some budget Galaxy models.
Samsung's support of crypto technology in its mobile devices is being seen as a huge step forward for adoption. Its rival HTC's Exodus 1 smartphone offers even more advanced features, and is billed as the first blockchain phone.

The S10 made use of Enjin's crypto storage solution, in order to offer crypto users the opportunity to keep a wide variety of different tokens in the phone's built-in wallet. According to Chae Won-cheol, senior managing director of the Product Strategy Team at Samsung Electronics' Wireless Business Division, this functionality will soon be available on the company's cheaper models: "We will lower barriers to new experiences by gradually expanding the number of Galaxy models that support blockchain functions...We will also expand our service target countries after Korea, the United States and Canada."
The company is also due to work with Korea-based SK Telecom and KT, which are currently creating business opportunities in blockchain-based ID cards and local currencies.
