Justin Sun makes his big announcement: TRON dApps coming to 300M users
TRON has announced that browser Opera has added TRON's TRX and TRC-standard tokens within it's Crypto Wallet. ETH and ERC tokens are already supported within the browser.
Opera says in a statement that 'the decision to add another major blockchain onto its platform, marks a further step in Opera’s strategy to make Web 3 more inclusive and user-friendly for people around the world.'
By supporting TRX and TRC-standard tokens, hundreds of millions of Opera users can play TRON games and access TRON dApps within the browser.
300 million users
In a tweet, Justin Sun shares his excitement about Opera, that has 300 million users, supporting TRX and TRC-standard tokens. According to Sun, 'Opera users will be able to use dApps on the TRON blockchain soon'.
Opera Head of Browsers Krystian Kolondra shares this excitement. "TRON is a popular, quickly developing blockchain with a swiftly growing dApp ecosystem. We are happy to open our browser to it", said Kolondra. "By opening products to multiple blockchains, we are accelerating the mainstream adoption of Web 3."
Tech giant'
It seems that the Opera integration is the big announcement TRON Founder Justin Sun was hinting at earlier. On Monday, Sun said on Twitter that 'a tech giant with hundreds of millions of users will be enabling the TRON ecosystem in Q2.'
Opera has a native Crypto Wallet and Web 3 explorer since December 2018, when it started off with ETH and ERC20 tokens. Through the wallet and explorer, people can easily make transactions and interact with Web 3, a blockchain-bast 'internet of the future'. Opera now has both a PC browser and an Android browser, with the iOS browser released later this year.
Currently the browser only supports Ethereum, but 'TRON is coming soon', according to the statement.
BitTorrent also coming soon
Earlier this week, TRON Founder Justin Sun announced that BitTorrent launching on TRON this quarter. Sun also hinted at a BTT wallet and token launched on uTorrent and BitTorrent. "We already run by the test, like a lab test. It gave a dramatic improvement of the network", he said.
